Tony Hawk Skates A Cardboard Skateboard

Usually when we think of a skateboard we can visualize a piece or plywood, the idea of a plywood skate deck has remained relatively static for the largest part of skateboarding’s history.  Signal Snowboards taps the resources of Ernest Packaging to create a deck made primarily of cardboard. Recruiting the expertise of skate innovator Paul Schmitt (the mind behind PS Stix one of the country’s biggest board manufacturers), the final design was tested by the legendary Mr. Tony Hawk. In this video below, you can see the innovation first hand and the experience Tony Hawk had with it.  Now, this may not be something that picks up in the world of skateboarding, but it is very interesting to see one of the best trying out this new cardboard technology.  Enjoy!
